Mira grew up in Austria and moved back in Indonesia several years ago where she took her master degree in Corporate Communications. At the moment she works with GIZ, a public-benefit enterprise owned by the German Federal Government working for sustainable development worldwide. Other than her daily work and managing Polyglot Indonesia, she also involves in the activities of Abang None Jakarta, and Perhimpunan Indonesia Austria (PIA).
Mira believes that tolerance and respect in the individual minds of the people do contribute to a better side-by-side living; and that tolerance and respect however can only be acquired through education (whether formal or informal) and life experiences that shape one’s view on life and towards other people. Mira engages with Polyglot Indonesia, because she believes that through a young, positive spirited community with high drive in learning, we all can slowly contribute to widen each other’s horizons and our views about people of other cultures, backgrounds, education and views of life.
Mira's first 19 years of life were spent in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria, where she was born. There is where she learned German in her every day, and got acquainted with most colloquial Indonesian language, and Indonesian culture through dances with the dance club Gema Puspa Nusantara. Moving to Jakarta, Indonesia in year 2004, Mira started her undergraduate studies in Public Relations at the London School of Public Relations (LSPR) – Jakarta. Further she continued with her Master Degree in Corporate Communication studies with the same institution and graduated in the year of 2009. Through her studies she came to specialize her research foci on Cultural Promotion and Intercultural Communication Adjustment.
Being an alumnae of the Abang None Jakarta and Abang None Jakarta Selatan Youth & Tourism Ambassador Pageant in 2005, taught her a lot about appreciating the cultural heritage of Jakarta.
Aside being managing Polyglot Indonesia, Mira is involved in the Indonesian-Austrian Friendship Organisation Perhimpunan Indonesia Austria (PIA), where she supports Public Relations Activities.
In her professional life, Mira works as a Communications Professional in the field of International Development Cooperation, at the representative office of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for Indonesia, Timor-Leste and ASEAN.
