Summary

Ririen spent the past 8 years living and studying in Russia and Norway. She was awarded three different scholarships from Ministry of Education of Russian Federation and Universitetet i Tromsø the Arctic University of Norway. She studied Linguistics and Politics. She is also a cultural traveler who enjoys observing, interacting and getting to know the locals, and always respects the laws and customs. During 8 years living abroad, she barely went home but traveled around Russia, Central Asia and Europe instead. She gained valuable life experiences through her journeys; a little bit of ancient history told by the locals, babushki philosophical talks on the old Russian trains, coffee readings by the Balkans, beautiful joik by the Sami and many more. Feeling connected with the cultures and people around the world bring her happiness and her ultimate way to do so is speaking their languages. From heart to heart.

Motivation

If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head
If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart

The quote above is very accurate indeed! Ririen is fortunate enough to be born in the academic-oriented family who supports and encourages her to study and live independently in the other part of the world. Even close to the North Pole! She gained valuable experiences during her stay abroad, particularly in terms of  friendship. She believes that there are so many amazing people out there with their amazing cultures, traditions and of course languages! Since Ririen lived in a very heterogeneous environment, she was lucky enough to be able to practice her language skills and even learn new languages! It began from daily convos in the dormitory kitchen and lounge, then all she knows, she can understand and speak Serbian (and basically other similar languages from the Balkan countries), a little bit of Farsi, and even some dialects from Morocco, Burundi, Guinea Conakry, Georgia, Armenia, and many more!  She always tried her best to speak with them using their languages, and guess what? She has families from all over the world now!

She wants to motivate and encourage the Indonesian young generation to learn foreign languages through polyglot. Mastering one language or two is not enough.

The world is big, there are so many things to learn, to explore, to see and to feel! Language is the key to the amazing world out there and the most important, it enriches your soul.
So, be brave. Learn new languages. Understand people more. Feel the cultures. We are the citizen of the world!
