Around the World: Uzbekistan, Land of a Thousand Shrines
PIJakUzbekistan.jpg

Dear Jakarta Language Enthusiasts,

The relationship between Indonesia and Uzbekistan goes quite a long way.
Do you know that during the time of USSR, Indonesians are the only people allowed to go to Uzbekistan?
It is because our first president, Soekarno, insisted on visiting Imam Bukhari's tomb during his state visit to USSR in 1961.
Another mark of relationship between the two countries is the opening of Indonesia Study Center in Samarkand which offers Indonesian language program through Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages.

But other than that, what do you know about Uzbekistan?
In the eighth Polyglot Indonesia Jakarta Chapter's Around the World meetup series, we would like to invite you to learn more about the culture of the people of Uzbekistan!
In collaboration with the Embassy of Uzbekistan, we will also learn simple and useful Uzbek words and phrases!

Come and join us!
Keling va bizga qo'shiling!
